About Thrive Education
At Thrive Education, we believe that all children have strengths and immense potential. Our mission is to make education accessible for all children.
We pride ourselves in providing tailored and truly individualised programmes that are easily incorporated by teachers and schools, into the everyday curriculum.
Our logo has been carefully selected to represent a square peg in a round hole. It reflects the idea that some children may not fit into the conventional structure and expectations of the education system. Just like a square peg won’t fit smoothly into a round hole, kids with diverse needs face significant challenges in our schooling system because it often follows a one-size-fits-all approach. The standard methods, pace, and expectations may not align with their unique learning styles, abilities, or emotional needs, making it difficult for them to thrive.
We work closely with the school and teaching team to help them better understand how to create a more inclusive and adaptable educational environment. Our goal is to equip educators with the knowledge and strategies they need to support students with diverse needs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and feel valued in the classroom.
We have recently extended our research into trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), such as parental separation, abuse, and exposure to natural disasters. Traumatic experiences impact children’s behaviour, well-being and ability to learn and are often mistaken for a learning disability. All our programmes are trauma-informed and responsive.
Meet the founder
I started Thrive after my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Although I had spent years as a teacher working with children who had learning needs, it wasn’t until then that I truly experienced firsthand just how hard it can be for children like her in schools. I saw how their struggles were often amplified, while their strengths went unnoticed. This personal journey drove me to create a service that helps not only support students with learning difficulties but also empowers teachers and parents with the tools they need to help all children thrive.
Many teachers want to help but often lack practical, hands-on strategies that are easily adaptable to the classroom setting. While there’s plenty of theory and information available, I found that what was missing were teacher-friendly, clear approaches that can be applied in real-time to support children. This motivated me to return to study. I began a Masters in Inclusive Education and studied various programmes focusing on, and specialising in dyslexia and AD/HD.
I created a service that supports children like my daughter, ensuring that their unique abilities are recognized, nurtured, and utilised to maximise success.
I am passionate about ensuring that learning is something that can be enjoyed by everyone. Our role is to facilitate this journey for children by ensuring that the environment, content and delivery are well-aligned to the individual child.
